These rich and fudgy brownies are made extra special with the addition of hot chocolate mix and marshmallow fluff! Hot cocoa are super decadent and everything you want in a brownie.

WHAT DOES HOT COCOA DO IN BROWNIES
Not only do the packets of hot cocoa mix add an extra depth of chocolate flavor to the brownies, but the powdered milk adds this hint of creaminess to each bite. It’s not an overwhelming flavor, but with each bite there’s this essence of dairy and cream that you won’t find in traditional brownies.
WHAT TYPE OF HOT COCOA MIX TO USE
If you’re familiar with my chocolate recipes around here, you know I’m only reaching for dark chocolate. For this recipe you want to buy dark chocolate hot cocoa mix. This is the mix I used, but I also searched around and found this dark chocolate hot cocoa you could try as well!

Just look at these beautiful swirls of the marshmallow fluff! Add a few dollops of the fluff overtop of the unbaked batter then swirl into this brownie masterpiece.
You want to be careful though to only swirl the fluff and not mix it. You don’t want to mix it into the batter and take away from the brownie part underneath…so use a knife and just drag it through the fluff with a few motions and it will be ready to bake!
WHERE TO FIND FLUFF IN THE STORE
If you’ve never bought fluff before you might be wondering where to find it! In my grocery store it’s down the aisle with the peanut butter and stored on the top shelf. In my previous grocery store it was down the candy aisle on the bottom shelf. So first check by the peanut butters, then by the candy and marshmallows!

STORAGE TIPS
You can keep these stored on the counter in an airtight container or covered in foil for a few days. Longer than that pop them in the fridge to keep them fresh for a few extra days.
If you’re keeping these covered in foil add a few toothpicks to elevate the foil off the brownies, otherwise the fluff can get super sticky and stick to the top of the foil.
Tasty tip: reheat a brownie in the microwave for a few seconds until warmed then add some ice cream for an over-the-top brownie sundae.

If you’re looking for a new brownie recipe that will make you say “Wow!” this is the one to try! I seriously have to put the plate out of sight so I don’t snag a bite every time I walk by.
And since these are relatively easy to make, you won’t have to create a huge mess in the kitchen when you find yourself in a brownie craving!

- Total Time: 35 minutes
- Yield: 9 brownies
- Category: Baking
- Method: Bake
- Cuisine: American
Ingredients
1/2 cup all purpose flour
10 tablespoons of butter, melted
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 cup marshmallow fluff
1/2 cup cocoa powder
3 packets of dark chocolate hot chocolate mix
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8×8 metal pan with parchment paper or foil. If using foil, spray with cooking spray to avoid any sticking.
2. To the bowl of melted butter, stir in the cocoa powder, brown sugar, vanilla, hot cocoa packets, salt, vanilla, and both eggs. Stir so everything is well combined.
3. Next, stir in the flour then pour into the prepared 8×8 baking pan.
4. Dollop the marshmallow fluff over top of the brownie batter then use a knife to gently swirl. Be mindful to swirl the fluff and not mix it into the batter. You want to be creating a pattern not blending it into the mix.
5. Bake for 24-25 minutes.
Enjoy!
