INGREDIENTS

Here’s what you need to get these taco bites ready for your next gathering. This recipe makes 30 phyllo cup bites, but you can easily double this for a larger serving.

  • 1/2 pound ground beef.
  • Phyllo cups. I always find this in my grocery store in the frozen food aisle. Sometimes they are actually in the freezer and sometimes they are in a display in the aisle.
  • Tomato paste with mixed with water.
  • Seasonings: taco seasoning, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder.
  • Sharp Cheddar cheese.

Then go in with any of your favorite toppings! I chose sour cream, guac, and diced red onions. But for some other ideas or to create a “build your own taco bite bar” you can add:

  • Diced tomatoes
  • Black beans
  • Refried beans
  • Corn
  • Cilantro
  • Chopped lettuce
  • Salsa

HOW TO MAKE TACO BITES

These are so easy to make which is so important when you’re planning a party menu. The longest part of this recipe is cooking the ground beef. The rest is just fill, bake, garnish!

Step 1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and add the phyllo cups to a baking sheet.

Step 2. Cook the ground beef then drain the grease, and return the beef to the pan.

Step 3. Add the dry seasonings then combine the tomato paste with water and pour over the seasoning beef.

Step 4. Add the taco meat to the phyllo cups, top with cheese then bake for 10 minutes.

Top with any taco toppings you want then serve!

MAKE AHEAD TIPS

Now I know when you’re planning a party anything you can get done ahead of time is crucial! Save time by cooking up the ground beef and storing in the fridge then prepping any of the additional toppings. Then, once you’re ready just preheat the oven, fill the phyllo cups, and bake!

Leftovers are not ideal for these since the phyllo cup will get soggy once it’s filled and chilled in the fridge.
