French Onion Grilled Cheese
Add the red onions to a Dutch oven, add 1 teaspoon of sugar and cook over medium low heat for 30 - 35 minutes.
Remove the onions then add the butter, flour, Sherry, thyme, and beef broth. Simmer to thicken.
Butter both sides of the bread, toast in a pan, add the Gruyere and onions and toast until melty.
Serve right away with a side of the dipping broth and enjoy!
